Vietnam: February figures fall


At Hanoi, on 5 March 2015: Vietnam National Administration of Tourism estimates the country welcomed 756,000 international visitors in February representing a decline of 10.2% over the same month last year.

The trips are from Thailand to Vietnam ranked in 10th place at 19,376 trips; an increase of 1.5%.
South Korea led as Vietnam’s top source market with 145,563 visits improving 68.1%. Other top performers were China, Japan, the United States, and Australia.
Neighbouring Cambodia, in 17th place, contributed 27,953 trips representing a decline of 20.9% over the same month last year.

All of the country’s top markets are in the Asia/Pacific region with exception of the US (fourth), Russia (sixth), and France (ninth).

The bulk of arrivals in February (610,834) passed through the two main aviation gateways Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City.

From January to February this year, 1,456,692 international tourists were welcomed with declining 10.0% when compared to the same period last year.

Its data was updated by VNAT on its website, earlier this week, sourced from the government statistics office.
