More Flights to Cairo By Qatar Airways

Qatar Airways is to increase the frequency of its popular CairoDoha flights to triple daily beginning 1 July 2013.

The Doha-based carrier is introducing five flights to its current 16 services a week, taking frequency up to three flights each day.

Qatar Airways has been flying to Cairo since 1994, the airline’s initial year of operations, and the route has proved highly popular both as a leisure and business destination.

The airline will be operating a mix of narrow-body Airbus A320s, wide-body Airbus A330s and its flagship Boeing 777 aircraft on flights to and from Cairo.

The operating aircraft have a two-class seat configuration offering seats both in First Class and Economy Class.

“For the second time this year, we’ve increased capacity between Cairo and Doha due to over whelming demand demonstrating the resurgence in tourism, as well as business travel to and from the Egyptian capital, said Qatar Airways Chief Executive Officer, Akbar Al Baker. “In the space of just three months, Qatar Airways has increased frequency on the route by 24%, soon operating three daily flights each morning, afternoon and evening, and with better connectivity to an array of destinations including Beijing, Bangkok, Dubai, Manila, Hong Kong, Singapore, Colombo and cities across the Gulf.”

Apart from flights to Cairo, Qatar Airways has an extensive network in Egypt offering non-stop daily flights to popular gateway cities Alexandria and Luxor.

The additional services to Cairo will see Qatar Airways operate a total of 35 flights a week to Egypt.
